WOODSTOCK - Peachtree Ridge and Mill Creek's softball teams found themselves in very familiar territory after Saturday's action at the Class AAAAA North Sectional Tournament.
The
Lions and the Hawks are both headed back to Columbus for the state
tournament for the third straight year after sweeping through three
games in the double elimination tournament - two of which came Saturday
at the Twin Creeks Softball Complex.

Every different team has a unique identity, but Peachtree Ridge's past few fastpitch softball teams have an appealing trait in common - they all have stepped it up a notch in the state playoffs.
The
Lions already have followed the successful 2006 and 2007 teams with a
big postseason accomplishment, winning their first Region 7-AAAAA
championship last Friday with a victory over host Mill Creek. The
champs entered the postseason tournament as a No. 3 seed, but rose to
the top to claim the No. 1 seed for this weekend's Class AAAAA North
Sectional.
